What it'll be like:
While therapy isn't a cookie-cutter experience, there are some things you can count on, if you and I work together. You'll have a place to tell your story, and to weave it into your family history. We'll identify how family history and dynamics have shaped your worldview, experiences, and story. We'll explore what it means to live in and belong to a community. I'll support you with identifying what level of family, community, and cultural responsibility you value.
We'll address the impact of multicultural challenges and living out of alignment with your identity and values. This may include anxiety, low self-value ("not enough-ness"), guilt and shame, disconnect from identity, isolation, sadness and depression, self-loathing, and more.
You'll have a space to work toward specific therapeutic goals if that's your need—and you'll have a space to give voice to the unnamed things, even if there's nothing to be done about them.
We'll draw out your parts with curiosity and compassion, and work together to restore harmony and congruence. I'll guide you in noticing what you're feeling in your body and where you're feeling it. You'll learn how to notice the different parts of your experience—physical, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual—and how to nurture, soothe, and regulate. I'll join with you in the moments when hard questions need to be asked and answered; when discomfort and pain need to be sat with; when you have wins to celebrate; and when you have things to reevaluate.
